About Us

The Rusty-spotted Cat Working Group (RSCWG) is a global network of conservationists, researchers and advocates from Nepal, India and Sri Lanka. We are united by a single purpose: protecting the planet’s smallest wild feline.

By bridging the gap between wildlife conservation and community livelihoods, we work tirelessly to mitigate threats such as retaliatory killing, habitat degredation and road kills, ensuring this elusive species has a future in its native range.

Our Vision

To see a world where the Rusty-spotted cat thrives in secure, connected habitats across its entire geographical range, coexisting harmoniously with local communities.

Our Mission

To safeguard the Rusty-spotted cat and its natural habitats through collaborative research, impactful awareness campaigns and the promotion of sustainable livelihoods that benefit both wildlife and people.

Our Goals

Species Protection

Reduce immediate threats like poisoning and road mortality through targeted conservation initiatives.

Regional Collaboration

Strengthen the network of experts across Nepal, India and Sri Lanka to share knowledge and resources.
